An opportunity to be part of a growing team within a new organisation Lancashire Hospitals Services (Pharmacy) Ltd.,  a wholly owned subsidiary of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.  This is an exciting new innovative outpatient dispensing service, focusing on providing efficient and effective pharmacy services to our patients in Preston, Rosemere Centre and Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital. 

Join our Outpatient Dispensing team will enable you to develop your clinical knowledge in a fast paced environment, whilst providing a customer focused and critical service to patients.

You will be responsible and reliable for supporting the efficient delivery of the outpatient dispensing service, working as a member of the pharmacy team providing an efficient, safe and accurate pharmacy services to achieve excellence.  

You must be able to work under pressure, undertaking activities such as labelling and dispensing, and accuracy checking if you are trained to this level, plus you will be involved in the procurement of medicines and stock management. You will be working with other members of the team, supporting and training members of staff. 

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

The working hours within, but not limited to, Monday to Friday  8:30am – 6:00pm. 

A flexible approach to work is required as you may work at any of our three Lancashire Hospital Services (Pharmacy) Ltd branches.


The successful candidate must be  registered with GPhC and possess  a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills and Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or recognised  equivalent Pharmacy Technician Qualification. 

Please note that Lancashire Hospitals Services (Pharmacy) Ltd is an independent organisation supporting Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Therefore the post holder will not be eligible for NHS benefits.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
