This unique role offers the chance to be part of a growing team within a new organisation Lancashire Hospitals Services (Pharmacy) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.  This is an exciting new innovative outpatient dispensing service, focusing on the provision of efficient and effective pharmacy services to our patients in Preston, Rosemere Centre and Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital. 

Joining our Outpatient Dispensing team will enable you to develop your clinical knowledge in a fast paced environment, whilst providing a customer focused and critical service to patients. This role is perfect for an ambitious Dispenser/Pharmacy Assistant who is looking for a role with a difference, where you can develop your knowledge and skills in a fast paced hospital environment.  You will be responsible and reliable for supporting the efficient delivery of the Outpatient Dispensing service, working as a member of the pharmacy team providing a safe and accurate pharmacy service to achieve excellence and provide exceptional customer care and patient experience.

You must be able to work under pressure, undertaking activities such as receiving prescriptions, taking payments and validating exemptions,  following standard operating procedures and accurately dispensing prescriptions whilst minimising patient waiting times. Working as a member of the team maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues, health care professionals and patients is essential.    You will have a flexible approach to work as you may be required to work at any of our three Lancashire Hospital Services (Pharmacy) Ltd branches.

 

The successful candidate must possess minimum GCSE grade 4/5, C in English and Mathematics together with Pharmacy Service Skills NVQ level 2 (RQF) qualification or   a GPhC accredited UK Level 2 knowledge-based and Level 2 competency-based dispensing/pharmacy assistant qualification, and ideally have experience of dispensing UK hospital outpatient prescriptions.
