Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is one of the largest foundation trusts in the North West. We provide a range of specialist tertiary services including cancer, renal, plastics, neurosciences and specialist mobility and rehabilitation.
We are the major trauma centre and the vascular centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria. This means our hospitals deliver the latest treatment for a broad spectrum of serious, complex and uncommon conditions. We also provide the local hospital services for the 400,000 population of Central Lancashire from our hospitals in Preston and Chorley.
In March 2016 we opened a new 26 bed Vascular Ward in response to our designation as a regional Major Vascular Centre, and to enable us to better provide the specialist care and treatment patients with vascular conditions require. Since then we have built a team of enthusiastic, hard-working, motivated staff who provide excellent care with compassion and we are offering you the opportunity to join us.
The Trust also has two new state-of-the art theatres that is used to carry out vascular procedures making the specialist centre able to make a real difference to the lives of people who are living with vascular conditions and we are committed to providing the highest possible standard of care.
We are looking to recruit Band 5 nurses who have an interest in the care and experience of patients undergoing elective and emergency vascular surgical procedures and treatment. You will be joining a team who are dedicated to the high standard of nursing care given to our patients, who have a passion for nursing as well as an enthusiasm for championing the needs of the patient and their families and carers.
We always put patients first, and believe that creating a positive working environment, where staff feel valued, supported and empowered, will enable us to achieve this for every patient, every time. We expect every single member of staff to treat patients, families and colleagues with care and compassion, and to work together to achieve the very best outcomes. As an organisation we believe that every staff member plays a vital role in the delivery of excellent care with compassion, we are proud of our hospitals, and of the quality of care we provide for our patients, and that makes this a great place to work.
As a Teaching Hospital we are committed to your continuous personal and professional development, so it will come as no surprise for you to hear that we offer a wide range of clinical and non-clinical development opportunities ranging from time management to interview skills. We are keen to provide all our staff with the opportunity to learn, which means some of our courses are provided via online learning through our own dedicated Trust site, so staff can develop knowledge as and when they want or need to.
In addition to the many other benefits of working at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you may also be entitled to apply for our relocation package. As a Trust we recognise the importance of securing the right candidate for a role; and we therefore offer an attractive relocation package of £1,500 for any nurse relocating more than one hour away from their current address.
