Twilight vacancies have arisen on our Urology Ward. We are primarily an acute ward for patients with Urology Cancers undergoing robotic surgery. We are part of the Lancashire and south Cumbria cancer network and take patients from all over the region. Many of our patients have life changing surgery with the aim to cure them of their cancer. We take pride in ourselves that we help patient overcome major changes to their body image so they recover and lead healthy lives.

We also take emergency patients with Urological emergencies from E.D (emergency department) and the SAU (surgical assessment unit). And the ward also looks after patients following major surgery to remove kidney stones.

We would support you by giving you a 4 week supernumerary period with buddy to actively develop your knowledge and skills and can offer a Preceptor ship program covering simulated assessments, venepuncture and cannulation, critical care, acute oncology and many more. As well as a Ward based induction to teach you the necessary skills and a full trust induction.

As part of the team you will develop highly specialist skills including the management of epidural infusions, patient controlled analgesia and stoma care. You will also be able to develop skills including male catheterisation and venepuncture and cannulation.

The Trust is actively committed to improving the working lives of its entire staff and helping working parents and carers balance work and family commitments. There are a number of Trust policies and initiatives that support this commitment. If you would like to discuss part time hours of flexible working please apply.
