Specialist Speech & language Therapist in Head and Neck Cancer
Are you looking for a highly specialist post or a career development opportunity in Head and Neck Cancer? if so, we would really like to hear from you!
We are expanding our Speech & Language Therapy Head and Neck team and welcome interested therapists to come and join us. We are offering a permanent post with a career development opportunity to support the accrual of knowledge, skills and expertise with these complex patients. You will work alongside our Macmillan Speech & Language therapist and other specialist Speech and Language therapists allowing tailored training to facilitate independent practice at a Band 7 level. Therapists working at Band 6 are encouraged to apply and the length of training will be dependent upon the expertise of the candidate and will be mutually agreed.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust is a Cancer Centre and Head and Neck patients are seen across surgical and oncology treatment pathways in both In-patient and Out-patient settings. We have excellent multidisciplinary team working with our colleagues and are a key clinician in the management of these patients.
The Speech & Language Therapy service is well established with a team of 23 staff covering different specialist services. Direct access to both Videofluoroscopy and FEES is available on site. We are a friendly department with a strong commitment to evidence based practice with regular CPD, appraisal and training opportunities.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals provides district general hospital services to 370,000 people in Preston and Chorley, and specialist ( tertiary ) care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire and South Cumbria. We are the regional specialist centre for major trauma, neurosurgery, neurology, oncology, head and neck cancer, plastic surgery and burns, vascular and renal services. Preston is a lively University city , with good train links to the North’s major cities of Manchester and Liverpool and also to the Lake District.
