We are currently looking for new members to join the clinical team of Lancashire SAFE Centre.

The medical team of the Lancashire SAFE Centre provides clinical forensic examinations, medical care and support services to complainants of sexual assault or abuse in Lancashire.
The Centre was the first purpose built Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in the UK and opened in 2002.

We are based at the Royal Preston Hospital and are part of the Directorate of Women and Child Health.

Clinical forensic medicine provides an exciting career opportunity. The specialty has an established faculty (the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine) which is a faculty of the Royal College of Physicians and postgraduate qualifications are available.

MB.ChB. plus post graduate experience in a relevant specialty e.g. gynaecology/paediatrics/accident and emergency are necessary but no prior experience in forensic medicine is needed as full training and mentorship will be provided.
