Interventional Radiology Department

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust

Band 5 Staff nurses (37.5hours)

Are you passionate about giving high quality nursing care with compassion? Do you have a desire to make a difference?

You will be a good communicator and have the ability to prioritise in addition to working closely with other team members. In return for your hard work and dedication we are committed to building on your existing skills and knowledge. You’ll receive a comprehensive induction and annual appraisal to develop your skills and knowledge where appropriate.

Interventional Radiology is an exciting speciality and involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team of nurses, radiographers and radiologists. The post offers many opportunities to develop a nursing career in this technical and interesting field. We care for patients from all different specialities and the work is varied and at times challenging and complex, but very rewarding.

The role involves the assessment, care and recovery of patients undergoing a wide variety of radiological procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic in our Interventional radiology rooms in xray, the hybrid theatre and in the Interventional Radiology Day Unit (IRDU).

The post is predominantly Monday – Friday 08.30 – 16.30 with the successful candidate willing to participate in a paid on call rota for emergency out of hours work.

We are looking for someone who is professional, flexible, motivated and committed to delivering high quality patient focused care within our busy IR departments, someone who wants to work with a friendly, hard- working and fully supportive team.

Previous theatre / cardiac catheter lab experience would be desirable; however, this is not essential as support and extensive training will be given to an excellent standard. Newly qualified nurses are welcome to apply and would be eligible to attend the Trust Preceptorship course.

Interview date: 30th September 2019
