Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is a large Foundation Trust set over Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley District Hospital. The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams work as an integrated service, working closely together to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective acute care.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 physiotherapist static posts working in acute medicine. You will be required to work across site.

 

Working days will be negotiated with local team when candidates appointed. Working hours may be subject to negotiation and flexibility.

The candidate will work closely with the Clinical Lead Physiotherapists in delivering a high quality service in the acute medical setting which will allow you to gain experience in Respiratory Care, Acute Medicine, Cardiology, Surgery, High Dependency Unit, Non-Invasive Ventilation, Urgent Care and Elderly Medicine.

The successful post-holder will be welcomed into a supportive environment with a clear supervision structure through which personal and professional development is encouraged. You will have an excellent opportunity to contribute to key service development and leadership projects. You would also be responsible for supervising and supporting junior staff and students in their development within the service. You must possess good communication, time-management and interpersonal skills, and be motivated and able to work efficiently both alone and as part of an integrated team.

The Integrated Therapy Service provides an emergency on call service and therapists will be expected to join the rota. Adequate support and training will be provided prior to going onto the on-call rota. We are also moving towards 7 day working, and as such the successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly to support this model of service delivery when it is implemented.

International candidates that are successful to shortlisting will be provided the option of a skype interview, local candidates will be invited to interview in-house. If the successful candidate is international the Trust will support them through obtaining a UK work permit.
