Lancashire & South Cumbria Pathology Collaboration – Clinical Director Role
Pathology is at the forefront of delivering 21st century healthcare and has a profound impact on an organisation’s ability to provide high quality, efficient and effective patient care. Changing demographics, rising demand, technological innovation, and continual drives for efficient and effective services are key drivers to improving the quality of service provision, whilst streamlining the way in which services are delivered.
Four provider organisations in L&SC have committed to form a network and collaborate on pathology services, including Blackpool Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. The intention is to form one pathology entity which is hosted by one of the existing provider organisations. Alongside, a newly appointed Managing Director, the successful applicant to this Clinical Director post will be expected to contribute to establishing the entity and lead it when formed.
L&SC Pathology Network intends to become an organisation that offers excellence in clinical science for the population of the Lancashire and South Cumbria region. Working in collaboration with NHS organisations and commercial partners our intention is to be recognised as a leading provider of pathology services.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
