Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Middle Grade Doctor, with an interest in Palliative Care?
If so, we can offer significant opportunities for engagement in the future expansion of Palliative Care Services in our Trust and community.
We are a large and high profile teaching centre in the Northwest of England, with a range of tertiary services including Neurosciences, and we also host a Major Trauma Centre, as well as regional vascular services.
You will join the multidisciplinary team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust, a well-established team consisting of a Two Consultants in Palliative Medicine, specialist registrars on rotation, clinical nurse specialists, a clinical practice educator, MDT coordinator and admin support, as well as an extended MDT. We also run an active education and training programme.
The team supports care for patients across this busy teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre. We provide an inpatient liaison service, support cancer and non-cancer MDT’s and out patients clinics.
This post has previously been a LAT post attached to the NW Deanery and has provided excellent experience and training for those wishing for out of programme experience in non-palliative care specialities, and those considering training in palliative care. Previous post holders who have applied for the training programme in palliative medicine have all been successful in securing a training number.
The post is offered for 12 months initially, with scope to extend the term by mutual consent.
You should be eligible to work in the UK in a non-training grade post, as this post is not recognised for training purposes.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
