Rotational Staff Nurse - Children and Young People’s Urgent and Emergency Care
“Calling all superheroes!”
We want all our young patients and their families to have a positive experience and are looking for some very special staff to join our team. Superpowers include ability to prioritize, resilience, communication, kindness, working as part of a team and independently, time management skills, a willingness to develop and also the ability to maintain high professional standards with an element of fun.
We are looking for nurses to work on our urgent and emergency care rotation. This will involve some time working in the Emergency Department and some time on the Paediatric Assessment Unit. It will provide an opportunity for team members to develop a wide range of skills in acute assessment and management of illness and trauma in children.
Working with others we have close links with the ward, ED, Children’s Outpatients Department and Community Paediatric Service. Our ward based team is multi-disciplinary including physios, pharmacist, play specialists, patient experience coordinator and the CAMHS team.
We are a forward thinking team and have a number of exciting developments planned, we value the voice of staff as well as patients and there will be opportunities for involvement in shaping the future of our services.
Our priority is patient safety and experience and we believe this is achieved by creating a positive experience for staff in the workplace.
Our staff nurses are invaluable to us and in return for their dedication and commitment, we offer the following benefits:
• Flexible working opportunities which allows you to work shifts
around your availability
• Paid induction, mandatory updates and ongoing training/CPD
• Paid annual leave
• Access to the NHS Pension Scheme
In addition to the many other benefits of working at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you may also be entitled to apply for our relocation package. As a Trust we recognise the importance of securing the right candidate for a role; and we therefore offer an attractive relocation package of £1,500 for any nurse relocating more than one hour away from their current address.
