A requirement has arisen for a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in Soft Tissue Knee Reconstruction and Peri-articular Osteotomy in the Orthopaedic Directorate at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust provides a wide range of emergency and elective Orthopaedic services, including tertiary services, and is the Major Trauma Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria.

We are seeking a Consultant Knee Surgeon to join our group of dynamic Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons. The successful applicant would be expected to develop the soft tissue knee reconstruction service and provide a peri-articular osteotomy service, as well as performing routine and complex primary knee arthroplasty. A minimum of twelve months fellowship experience in soft tissue knee and osteotomy is desirable, as well as a keen interest in joining the regional Major Trauma Service. The successful applicant will be expected to join the On Call rota for Major Trauma. The work of the Orthopaedic Directorate is split across the Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley District Hospital sites.

You must be registered with the GMC on the Specialist Register for Trauma and Orthopaedics (or within 6 months of gaining entry onto) and willing to participate in Teaching and Clinical Governance Provision.

Should applicants be currently or recently employed as a Consultant or Locum consultant, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals reserves the right to request a reference from the Medical director of any previous or current employing organisation.

This substantive appointment will be on the basis of the Consultant Contract laid down by the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff Terms and Conditions of Service and will be remunerated as appropriate.
