Do you want to develop your Organisational Development skills or even move into the OD profession? Our new Staff Retention Officer role is for you. This role offers a variety of experiences and opportunities for you to get involved in, shape and lead. It could be perfect for someone wanting to start on their journey of becoming an OD practitioner, or transition into OD from other areas like Human Resources. It is also perfect for someone who has a Psychology degree, or has completed or considering completing a Masters in Occupational Psychology or Organisational Development and looking to gain rich, practical experience of the consultancy cycle in order to achieve Chartership status.
We are looking for someone to take a pivotal role in establishing, implementing and evaluating a range of staff retention interventions. We’re expanding our team and introducing this new role, and we’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, has proven experience of working on projects independently, seeks to continuously improve how we do things and thrives on challenge.
This new role reflects the commitment the Trust gives to organisational development. The Workforce and OD team has recently had Board level approval for their 3 year strategy which places OD at the core. This role is key in supporting us to achieve one of our strategic aims, which is to engage and retain our staff. You will report to and work alongside the Head of Engagement, Recognition and Retention to help implement retention plans so that our workforce have a positive of experience of work, feel engaged with their team and our vision, want to go the extra mile and build their future with us.
In particular you will help us to refresh our on-boarding, induction and probationary processes to reflect our new employment brand and help our new starters feel part of the team from day one. You will also take a lead on creating career pathways and job families.
As part of the role you will co-ordinate and facilitate focus groups which will explore the views and experiences of our staff to understand how we can improve their experience working here and so improve staff retention. You will create reports and recommended actions. You will help plan and implement retention interventions such as exit interview processes and help us refresh our flexible working schemes.
You will be our source of expertise on staff retention, providing support, assistance and advice to our staff and managers. You will also take a coaching approach to support our staff to consider career options and help them prepare for job applications and interviews.
You will have strong analytical skills and be able to interpret complex data because you will compile and analyse retention data and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. You will also have strong written and verbal communication skills and will work across the organisation with key stakeholders to develop career pathways.
Ideally you will have experience of coaching, creating career pathways, and you will be confident as using multimedia and social media technologies.
