This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Head & Neck Surgery Department at Royal Preston Hospital.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic individual to join our Ophthalmology Typing Pool as a Typist. The post holder will provide day to day administrative support to the Ophthalmology secretaries.

You will need to be a self-motivated individual with proven administrative skills which include audio typing speed of 60 words per minute. You will need to be calm under pressure as this is a very busy and at times demanding environment, and show a willingness to undertake and learn new tasks.

Broad experience of Trust IT systems and experience in an administrative role would be an advantage. Applicants with experience in an acute/medical setting would be better suited to this job.

The post holder will possess excellent communication skills and be open and accessible in order to provide the required support for queries, questions, advice and support for all members of the Ophthalmology Team.

The post holder will be calm under pressure as this is a very busy and at times demanding environment with a willingness to undertake and learn new tasks and able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.
