We have an exciting opportunity for caring and compassionate nurses who want to work in the innovative field of cancer nursing, providing excellent quality care for cancer patients during treatments, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy and also for those patients at end of life.
The 28 bedded Ribblesdale Ward provides inpatient care for cancer and haematology patients.
The Rosemere Cancer Centre, which celebrated being open for 20 years in February 2017, is the regional cancer center for Lancashire and South Cumbria. We provide complex regimes and chemo – radiotherapy treatments. During our 20 years research and development has seen many improvements in the care and treatments that are delivered and this is set to continue. We are expanding our service and developing more closer to home treatment strategies and more nurse led services. Ribblesdale ward will also be undergoing a major refurbishment in early 2019 to improve services for patients and staff.
As a cancer nurse you will have access to training and education as well as the support of a fantastic, dedicated team. The opportunities for a cancer nurse are wide ranging and our career pathways branch out into many other areas setting you off on a rewarding career.
What we do:
• Cytotoxic chemotherapy
• Trial treatments
• Biological therapies
• Palliative care including complex symptom management at end of life.
Our staff are our greatest asset and we believe that supporting our workforce to grow, develop and innovate creates a great place to work, and enables us to provide excellent care with compassion for our patients.
We provide a wide range of leadership, clinical development and post registration programs to support staff to reach their full potential, and have some of the best learning facilities in the country.
As a Centre for Health Innovation and Research our staff have lots of opportunities to participate in clinical trials and studies, and as a teaching hospital you can get involved in delivering education programs for student doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.
We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic staff with excellent communication skills to join our already established teams but also to lead and develop new services and ways of working as our Oncology teams grasp this opportunity to influence, shape and develop the changing face of cancer care and service provision at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
In addition to the many other benefits of working at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you may also be entitled to apply for our relocation package. As a Trust we recognise the importance of securing the right candidate for a role; and we therefore offer an attractive relocation package of £1,500 for any nurse relocating more than one hour away from their current address.
For any further information regarding our relocation package, please contact a member of the Recruitment Team.
