We have an exciting opportunity for caring and compassionate nurses who are experienced in the innovative field of cancer nursing, providing excellent quality care for cancer patients during their Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment.
You will be involved in providing specific SACT treatments in the patients home.

The Rosemere Cancer Centre, which has celebrated being open for 20 years in February 2017, is the regional cancer center for Lancashire and South Cumbria. We provide complex regimes and chemo – radiotherapy treatments. During our 20 years research and development has seen many improvements in the care and treatments that are delivered and this is set to continue. We are expanding our service and developing more closer to home treatment strategies and more nurse led services.

We have 2 Chemotherapy Units at Preston and at Chorley Hospital. You will be required to work across both sites. You will be involved in providing nurse led clinics and managing patients via our Helpline.

As a cancer nurse you will have access to training and education as well as the support of a fantastic, dedicated team. The opportunities for a cancer nurse are wide ranging and our career pathways branch out into many other areas setting you off on a rewarding career.

LTHTR are the region’s provider of cancer, neurosciences, mobility and rehabilitation, renal, burns and plastics tertiary specialties. In the past two years we have been accredited as the major Trauma Centre, for Lancashire and South Cumbria, as well as the regional Vascular Centre. We are in the process transferring specialist cancer surgery to our Cancer Centre, and are expanding ENT Oncology, Urology, Colorectal and Upper Gastrointestinal surgery.

What we do:

• Cytotoxic chemotherapy
• Trial treatments
• Biological therapies
• Radiotherapy
• Palliative care

Our staff are our greatest asset and we believe that supporting our workforce to grow, develop and innovate creates a great place to work, and enables us to provide excellent care with compassion for our patients.

We provide a wide range of leadership, clinical development and post registration programs to support staff to reach their full potential, and have some of the best learning facilities in the country.

As a Centre for Health Innovation and Research our staff have lots of opportunities to participate in clinical trials and studies, and as a teaching hospital you can get involved in delivering education programs for student doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.

We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic staff with excellent communication skills to join our already established teams but also to lead and develop new services and ways of working as our Oncology teams grasp this opportunity to influence, shape and develop the changing face of cancer care and service provision at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
