Two whole time substantive posts for Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultants available in Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Recognised for strengths in education, research and a tertiary centre for neonatal services and gynae oncology; the women’s health directorate would welcome enthusiastic and dedicated colleagues with special interests in obstetrics or gynaecology to complement those already offered. You would join a 1:11 on-call rota covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

We are a cohesive team of 14 consultants including 3 gynae-oncologists responsible for a local population of 1.5 million. We would encourage interests in maternal-fetal medicine, ambulatory gynaecology, adolescent gynaecology, menopause or benign laparoscopic surgery but would be happy to discuss alternatives with suitably trained candidates. An interest in education or simulation would be welcomed and developed.

The maternity service has beacon status and offers all four choices of birth place. The trust is nationally recognised for its leadership development scheme for new consultants.

Preston (the North West’s best city to live and work in) has good rail and road links, excellent schools and is surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Applicants should have an appropriate CCT or be on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register. RCOG approval is pending.
