The Division of medicine is looking to develop a team of enthusiastic, highly skilled and motivated Specialist Asthma Health Care Professional’s (HCP’s).
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a National Specialist Tertiary Service for severe asthma and complex breathlessness. The team consists of 2 designated asthma specialist consultants, consultant respiratory SLT, senior Respiratory SLT, severe asthma specialist nurse, specialist airways physiotherapist and principal clinical psychologist. We provide therapy for inducible laryngeal obstruction and dysfunctional breathing disorders as well as biological therapy for severe asthma patients.
This is an exciting development opportunity for individuals with experience and interest in the field of Respiratory Medicine to join an established multi-professional team and to be part of the Northwest Severe Asthma Network which is an NHS England commissioned service for severe asthma management. This post would be supported with academic learning and clinical supervision.
This opportunity offers a full time post within the Asthma Service, and will include ward areas, assessment areas and hot clinics. You will have experience within acute medicine, including leadership and a willingness to undertake further study. In return you will be supported through training to aid and support your development as a Health Care Professional within the field of Asthma. The post holder will also be expected to develop a portfolio to support their competence, developing clinical skills whilst working alongside a specialist Health Care professional and Respiratory Consultant.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is renowned for our teaching, training and support with modern educational facilities and simulation suites. Within the department we have a number of staff involved in education and research projects.
