Calling all Day and Night Nurses!

Are you the kind of person who cares about getting things right?

Do you want to make a difference in a person’s life?

Do you want to work in a team that is forward thinking and willing to embrace the future?

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is one of the largest foundation trusts in the North West. We provide a range of specialist tertiary services including cancer, renal, burns & plastics, neurosciences and specialist mobility & rehabilitation. We are the major trauma centre and the vascular centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria. This means our hospitals deliver the latest treatment for a broad spectrum of serious, complex and uncommon conditions. We also provide the local hospital services for the 400,000 population of Central Lancashire from our hospitals in Preston and Chorley.

The Neurosurgical Unit at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust provides treatment and care for patients across Lancashire and South Cumbria who have Neurosurgical problems such as brain tumours, subarachnoid haemorrhages, head injuries and complex spinal conditions.

Permanent vacancies have arisen on Ward 2a for an enthusiastic adaptable Staff nurse to join our expanding team. We are keen to take on Nurses who can work days or nights or a mixture of both.

The post offers many opportunities to develop a nursing career in this exciting and interesting field. Ward 2a is a 17 bedded ward with 10 level 2 beds. We care for patients and their families who are stepping down from Critical Care and often have multiple complex needs including tracheostomies and EVDs. The nursing role also involves the assessment, care and recovery of patients undergoing a wide variety of neurosurgical procedures. The team works with colleagues from the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure our patients receive the best individualised care possible. The work is varied, and at times challenging and complex.

We are looking for resilient individuals with excellent communication skills, who are flexible and adaptive in many situations. As a good communicator you will have a commitment to developing coaching skills and be able to obtain and evaluate information to aid your decision making. This is a demanding but rewarding work environment. We always put patients first and believe in creating an open and positive working environment where staff feels valued and empowered. If you feel up to the challenge come and join our team.
