An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Neurologists to join our expanding regional Neurology service. The posts will support neurology services at Royal Preston Hospital and at a peripheral hospital in the region. We are particularly interested to recruit Consultant Neurologists with a special interest in MS or Epilepsy, but we would encourage applications from candidates with any Neurological sub-specialty interest which complements the existing team.
You will join a team of 11 Consultant Neurologists within the Regional Neurosciences Centre at Royal Preston Hospital, which also includes 9 Consultant Neurosurgeons, 4 Consultant Neurophysiologists, 4 Consultant Neuroradiologists (2 Interventional), 2 Consultants in Neurorehabilitation and 2 Consultant Neuropathologists.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust forms one of the major acute Trusts in the North West with a complement of over 1100 beds for a local population of 390,000 and a regional population of 1.5 million. We have all of the usual specialties on site as well as being a Tertiary Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria in Neurosciences, Oncology, Plastic Surgery and Renal Medicine. There is extensive undergraduate medical student teaching, and the Trust has active research links with the Universities of Manchester, Lancaster and Central Lancashire.
Lancashire is an attractive area to live and has many facilities available locally. The cities of Manchester and Liverpool are within easy reach. Recreational facilities are many and varied, with the Lake District, Ribble Valley, Yorkshire Dales and Fylde Coast nearby.
Applicants should hold or be eligible for CCT within 6 months of interview.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
