An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join a team of Medical Engineers in providing equipment management and technical support throughout the Trust and to nearby healthcare providers.
Our ISO9001:2015 accredited department manages the Trusts 20,000 items of medical equipment and has service level contracts with other nearby organisations. You will be undertaking the acceptance testing, planned maintenance and the repair of a range of equipment. Working as a member of a highly skilled team you will be ensuring the safe operation of this equipment with minimum downtime and always maximising patient safety. Applicants are expected to have a high degree of knowledge in the field of medical engineering along with considerable technical experience over a number of years. Additionally, you should be able to provide evidence of continuing personal development, be highly professional, well organised and capable of working under pressure.
Based at Chorley and District General Hospital, you will be working at various healthcare premises throughout the north west so a driving license is essential. You will need to be flexible and able to adjust your working hours occasionally to meet service demand.
You should be qualified to HNC/HND/Degree level or equivalent in an electronic or similar medical engineering subject and be able to demonstrate competence in fault finding to component level. Ongoing training and development will be an important aspect of your work and you will need to be able to work on your own initiative, as well as being part of a team. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
This will be a 12 month fixed term position working 37.5 hours per week. The salary will be £23,023 per annum.

The Trust also serves 1.5million in Lancashire and South Cumbria with specialist services in Neurosurgery, Oncology and Burns and Plastic Surgery.
