Job overview

Small team – HUGE opportunity to make a BIG difference

It takes a skilled individual to build the kinds of relationships which inspire hundreds of colleagues to improve their working lives, the working lives of others in their teams but also the quality of patient care and experience we provide. But that's exactly the kind of person we're looking for.

Your hands on style with the ability to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in will make all the difference, you will thrive on delivering at pace to large diverse groups across our organisation and will have a fundamental role in the continued success of our award winning Organisational Development (OD) Team.  Our whole world changed last year because of the pandemic and you will be right at the forefront of helping us plan what this means for us in terms of our delivery as we move forwards.

Main duties of the job

Our leaders and managers need someone who delivers straightforward advice, they need to know you understand their context, you are keen to support and you can ask the right kind of questions to come up with a solution (or solutions) which will empower them to move forwards and take action confidently.

The core work streams for this role include; leadership development (both accredited apprenticeship programmes but also tailored sessions), internal consultancy work, team development, coaching or mentoring, project management for the design and implementation of a range of organisational development interventions and elements of staff engagement so we mean it when we say it’s diverse! As a team we love challenging ourselves and supporting one another to be the best version we can be, we continuously look for ways in which we can improve our ‘offer’ to our organisation and our people!

Working for our organisation

Your dedication, compassionate nature and desire for quality is just what we need to support us in driving our service forward.  We want you to join our OD Team as we feel we have so much to offer you:

  • The ability for you to grab a project, take full ownership of it, be creative, and provide the right level of challenge to make the most difference
  • A very rewarding role which will utilise and enhance your existing skills to the max, and give you the opportunity to develop new ones
  • A great work-life balance to ensure you have time for the things you love both at work and outside of work
  • As a teaching hospital, the opportunities for your development are second to none

We are very active on social media and we are proud of what we do, please take a look on Twitter to see the kinds of things we have been up to and the kinds of things you could get involved in: @DevelopingLancs

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are excited to fully embrace digitisation, taking more of our learning content and leadership programmes online, trying lots of new ways of doing things and embracing all the opportunities this gives us.    We know your skills and expertise will really complement the work we have started to do, and your passion for OD will shine through as we make plans for our new future. We cannot wait to meet you and the whole team look forward to welcoming you and working alongside you to achieve some amazing things.

The duties and responsibilities listed below should be undertaken in accordance with the levels of competence as defined in the KSF outline for this post.
