Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is a large Foundation Trust and is a regional specialist centre for Neurosciences providing acute and rehabilitative care for patients within Lancashire and South Cumbria.
An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the Neuro-Rehabilitation team on the Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit at Royal Preston Hospital. The Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (NRU) is a Specialist Regional Service providing rehabilitation for patients within Lancashire and South Cumbria. There are close links with the neurosciences wards within the main hospital and the community Neuro/brain injury rehab teams. We aim to continue to improve these links in order to improve the patient pathway and ensure the delivery of a high quality, effective service.
Experience of working with patients with complex neurological conditions including physical, cognitive and behavioural problems is desirable. Experience of using IT for procurement of equipment and working well within a team are essential. The successful candidate will work closely within an integrated team of OTs and Physiotherapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to promote an integrated approach to therapy provision within Adult Neuro Rehabilitation.
Active involvement in training and development is a key requirement in meeting personal continuing professional development and trust objectives.
In recognition of the need for enhanced provision, the Integrated Therapy Service is looking to move towards 7 day working, and as such the successful candidate will be expected to support this model of care when it is implemented.
