Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is a large Foundation Trust set over two hospital sites, serving the local population of Preston and South Ribble and with specialist services offered to patients over a wider geographical area.
The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services are integrated, and staff work closely together to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective acute care.
Are you looking for a new challenge and a chance to learn new skills? We require enthusiastic and motivated team players to join our therapy bank to work flexibly across our busy therapy teams across both sites. This could be with the Acute Medicine teams, with Trauma and Orthopaedics, or within Stroke teams.
You will need effective communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work well alongside the therapy staff within our teams, and work with minimal supervision. The position requires you to possess good organisational skills, and a sensitive, caring and compassionate approach. The successful candidates will be required to complete some administration duties, and basic skills within information technology are desirable. This post can be physically demanding due to the nature of our patients, and their rehabilitation needs.
This is a teaching hospital, and as such there is a positive and supportive culture which promotes learning and development. There is an established in-house training program for all mandatory clinical skills, and potential for wider learning opportunities. All staff are supported with regular supervision from a senior team member.
In recognition of the need for enhanced provision, the Integrated Therapy Service is planning to move towards 7 day working and the successful candidate will be expected to support this model of care when it is implemented.
Interview Date: TBC
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
