Are you an experienced technically excellent cross sectional radiographer who also has an interest in teaching and education and are looking for a new and varied challenge?
Do you want to be involved in shaping the future of radiographer training?
In conjunction with the University of Cumbria we have developed the exciting role of an Academic Practitioner radiographer. You would be employed by LTHTR but will work across both the Acute clinical setting at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals - Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley and District Hospital and the Higher Educational institution of University of Cumbria.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated radiographer with excellent communication and technical skills.
You will be responsible for student training ( from any discipline)in the CT departments , be expected to support directorate wide staff and CT projects and also undertake formal teaching for all undergraduate radiographers at UoC..
You will also be expected to undertake clinical CT sessions at Royal Preston and Chorley hospitals to fully support students and to maintain your excellent technical abilities and be fully aware of all developments in clinical practice and mandatory clinical training requirements
LTHTR is the major tertiary referral centre for many specialities in Lancashire It is the Major Trauma centre ( with a CT scanner within the ED department), the regional Oncology centre, regional Vascular centre, Neurosurgical centre, and Plastics and Renal and Upper GI specialities. The University of Cumbria is an exemplary innovative teaching establishment for training student radiographers
You will work closely with the Radiography Professional Lead, the Undergraduate Clinical tutor and the Lead Radiographers in CT at LTHTR: and also with the Head of Radiography education and the lecturers at the University of Cumbria in this new role so your excellent communication skills, innovative ideas and flexible attitude to work are essential.
