An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced anaesthetic practitioner to join our Main Theatre Royal Preston Hospital as anaesthetic team leader.
You must be either a registered General Nurse with a post registration qualification in anaesthetics or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) in order to lead our dynamic Anaesthetic and Recovery team within Theatres.
We specialise in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing various procedures within our fast paced clinical environment. We cover a wide range of specialities such as Elective and Trauma Orthopaedics, Ear Nose and Throat, Urology, General Surgery, Plastics, Neuro, Vascular and Max Fax
We seek a committed individual who has excellent clinical skills, effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will display enthusiasm and interest in enhancing the good reputation of Theatres and foster and maintain good relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
As an experienced anaesthetic and recovery practitioner you will demonstrate excellent knowledge and clinical skills and be a role model for all staff within the department.
You will demonstrate a commitment to the development of staff, students and your own CPD.
As a team leader you will work with the Theatre Training team to ensure training compliance is met and learning opportunities for all staff and students are maximised. You must have substantive senior nursing/ODP experience and to succeed in this role you must demonstrate confidence, strong leadership skills and be flexible and proactive. Excellent communication skills, IT skills, and a patient safety focus are vital to the role as well as the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload.
