Exciting opportunities have arisen for newly-qualified and experienced staff nurses wanting to develop their skills and knowledge in our Acute Stroke ward at Royal Preston Hospital.
Ward 21 is our rapidly developing and forward thinking acute stroke unit based at Royal Preston Hospital, with an established nursing team who strive to provide an excellent standard of care to all patients. The ward provides a 24 hour nurse/consultant led outreach service for thrombolysis, which involves working in the emergency department, aided by the use of telemedicine technology, for out of hours review and assessment. The team are constantly optimizing the services in accordance to our patient requirements and welcome applications from dynamic individuals with strong interpersonal skills that will look forward to the challenges of nursing patients who have had a stroke or TIA (transient ischaemic attack).
We were the first Trust in the country to be awarded ‘teaching hospitals’ status and we provide award winning educational programmes for nursing staff. We also have close links with local universities We want our nurses to be highly skilled we will support you to undertake any study required ranging from short courses to masters level degree's, at no cost to you.
