Applications are invited for a Junior clinical fellow post in the Department of Medicine, Royal Preston Hospital, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months initially. This post will be based at MAU (Medical Assessment Unit). 

This post offers a wide range of experience in Acute Medicine for those wishing to gain further invaluable experience in a busy but stimulating clinical environment in a teaching hospital trust, with excellent supervision.

The post-holder will have the same annual and study leave allocation as doctors in training grade posts in the department. There are monthly audit and clinical governance meetings and weekly teaching sessions on MAU. There is a purpose built education centre and library on site.

Please note that this post is not approved for training purposes by the postgraduate dean. You will be required and able to take up a non-training grade post, in line with the department of health employment regulations.
You will need to be fully registered with the GMC. You will either be a resident worker or be eligible for a work permit. However, the post may be suitable for non-UK or non-EEA job applicants wishing to apply for Home Office Tier 2 sponsorship.

In addition to the basic standard hours there will be a banding supplement of 1B at 40%, with a requirement to be flexible in hours worked.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
