This is a challenging but rewarding job role and there’s no doubt that will need a motivated, enthusiastic team player, who is willing to work hard within a strong team, to provide a KEY service within the hospital for both staff and patients.
Your day to day role will assist with all associated duties connected with the Production of staff and patient meals.
A chef is required to prepare, cook and present food for both staff and patients to the highest standards in line with the department’s quality control guidelines. He / She are to ensure and observe the correct economic use of materials and equipment. You will have a good knowledge of special and therapeutic diets as well as religious, ethnic and other dietary needs, a knowledge of cook chill production systems. Take Responsibility in the supervision of Kitchen assistants and issue tasks.
It goes without saying that you will be required to adhere to departmental standards and food hygiene regulations. You will also act at all times in a manner that upholds the Trust’s values, working as part of a team to ensure efficiency and excellent customer care.
Chef experience is essential along with a Level 3 Certificate in food safety and the relevant cooking qualifications.

Hours of Duty will be 37.5 hours on a Rota pattern this will include Early and Late Shifts.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
