An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Home Oxygen Service at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals for an experienced Physiotherapist or Nurse Specialist with a background in home oxygen and respiratory care to join our team. We are looking for a motivated Band 7 Clinical Lead with excellent respiratory experience and service leadership potential to lead and develop our Home Oxygen Service across the Preston and Chorley areas. You will have excellent communication skills and proven experience of working in multidisciplinary teams.

This role would suit a practitioner (Physiotherapist or Nurse Specialist) with highly developed leadership and people skills who is able to balance day to day operational leadership and governance with a clear vision for the future development of the service and staff.

The successful applicant will lead a Home Oxygen Team which currently includes two Band 6 Oxygen Nurses. You will provide day to day support and leadership to the team in addition to supporting and encouraging their personal, professional, and clinical development. The Oxygen Clinical Lead will also work closely alongside, and together with, the wider acute Respiratory Team providing excellent care with compassion to patients both within outpatient settings and in their homes utilising your excellent assessment and clinical reasoning skills.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to further improve your own clinical skills in addition to those in leadership, management and MDT working. You will be supported by the Professional Lead for Physiotherapy and Respiratory Matron with your development. As Clinical Lead you will be responsible for developing links and working relationships with oxygen service networks locally and nationally, other community providers, and fire services, as well as the private oxygen contractor.

Previous experience and qualifications in managing patients with chronic respiratory disease is essential.
