An exciting 9 month Secondment opportunity has arisen to work within the team of Cardiac Specialist Nurses focusing mainly on heart failure patients.

This role provides an in-depth learning opportunity regarding heart failure patients. You will be assessing patients on admission, planning treatment alongside the cardiology doctors and lead heart failure nurse. This role will include a great deal of patient education on the wards. This is also an ideal opportunity in developing palliative skills with end of life heart failure patients. This role will also enable you to work alongside the cardiac rehabilitation team and develop you knowledge on nursing patients whom have had a myocardial infarction and angina. You will be working as the patients advocate at all times.

As you become more confident within the role you will be able to start seeing heart failure patients in an outpatient setting alongside the senior cardiology specialist nurse and cardiology doctors.

We work closely with MAU, CCU and the Cardiac Catheter Lab. We also have close links with tertiary device centers. This opportunity is the start of building your cardiology knowledge and can lead on to many other specialist roles.
