This role is a great opportunity for someone with the right drive and ambition to learn to provide administrative support to the Domestic Services team based within the Trust.

The successful applicant will share our enthusiasm and maintain good links with line managers. As well as being part of a team you must have the confidence and discipline to work on your own initiative and prioritise your workload.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be given support to act as Junior administrator to the Domestic Services team.  A large component of this role is to provide support and work alongside the Domestic Services Manager in administrative duties.  These duties will be varied and fluctuate as priorities arise. You will learn how to prioritize demands alongside supporting other team members during episodes of high work loads of which require administrative support.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain varied experience of administrative duties.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Communicates with a range of staff, users and visitors to the Trust / Department utilizing a variety of communication methods including verbal, electronic and passing information in a format that is appropriate to the individual request.

Communicate verbally with Domestic Services Managers and staff by phone, radio and through written procedures, ensuring an effective exchange of information.

Maintain and develop own competence for the Administrator role.

Ability to manage multiple diaries.

Prepare presentation material including power point.

 File location

Filing of reports, results and other departmental specific documentation.

Organising incoming and outgoing post, referring enquires to appropriate person if necessary.

Typing of letters or other correspondence.

Education & Qualification

Essential criteria
  • • GCSE English at level 4 or above or equivalent
  • • 3 other x GCSE’s at level 4 or above (or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • • Level 2 in Business & Admin or equivalent
  • • Qualification in ICT

Knowledge & Experience

Desirable criteria
  • • Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting
  • • Previous experience of working with the public
  • • Aware of the concept and application of confidentiality
