Applications are invited for a post at Registrar grade in the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology at Chorley Hospital, to commence as soon as possible, subject to the satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks. 

The post will involve working predominantly with Dr Imtiaz, Professor Raj and Dr Salazar Consultants in Diabetes and Endocrinology. 

The applicant should have a minimum of 24 months experience at ST1/2 level with sufficient experience in General Medicine, and will be expected to supervise junior doctors with in-patient and out-patient work.

The hours of work will be Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.00pm, with participation in the General Medicine registrar on call rota on a 1 in 10 basis at a 1B banding.

The post-holder will be expected to participate in general medical ward rounds and multi-disciplinary team meetings. The applicant will be encouraged to be involved in the specialist diabetes and endocrinology clinics. Alternatively, there is the opportunity to participate in Acute Medicine sessions.

The post-holder will be encouraged to become involved with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. There are also opportunities to participate in audit and research. There is a purpose-built education centre with extensive library facilities. 

You should be eligible to work in the UK in a non-training grade post, as this post is not recognised for training purposes.  It is essential that the applicant has had some previous experience of working as a doctor in the UK.
